Sims 3 and me….

I spent the past three weeks playing The Sims 3 on my lap top. It has become my new obsession. Time flies when you are having fun. I created three separate families that are rich and successful. Thank goodness for cheat codes. My first family was a mess. The mother had cabin fever, the teenage daughter was rebellious, the youngest daughter was neglected and the husband suffered from a midlife crisis. Did I mention social services took away my cat? It took my own mother to say maybe you should go online and find something to help you play the game. She was 100% correct. Unfortunately, I had to scrap that family.

My three current families are :

The Jones Family

Jayla(wife)

Simon(husband)

Kadence (daughter)

Gideon (son)

The Ross Family

Matthew (father)

Makaela( daughter)

The Pierces

Elizabeth (wife)

Andrew (husband)

Ethan Viktor (newborn son)

The game helps to relax when things become a little hectic on my end.

Sometimes, I end up staying up really late playing the game.

Yesterday, I started the third chapter of a piece that I am working on.

I pulled myself away from the Sims for a few hours.

Now I am working on cutting down my play time to a few hours a day.

This game is so addictive and I love it.

I believe that I can do it…one day…..soon.

“This Sorrowful Life” review :The Walking Dead season 3, episode 15

merlee

Warning: There are spoilers in this blog post.

Glenn and Maggie are getting married.

Herschel is full of positivity which makes me fearful of his fate on the show.

Carol foreshadowed what was to happen on this episode.

She asked “Merle are you with us?”

Rest In Peace : Merle Dixon

I made a mistake reading a spoiler after watching last weeks episode.

I knew that Merle was going to die.

AMC posted pictures of Merle on their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. That was when I knew it was a done deal.

However, I did not realize how sad the episode ” This Sorrowful Life” was going to be.

I have learned that when a main character starts to make sense then it is time for them to die.

Dale tried to convince the group that it was wrong to kill Randall and he died.

T-DOG wanted to allow Oscar and Axel to join the group and he died.

Lori Grimes tried to reason with Rick when it was obvious that he was going off the deep end and she died.

This episode the enlightened character was Merle Dixon (RIP).

Rick threw around the idea of possibly surrendering Michonne believing that would end the war.

Keep in mind that Rick was not one hundred percent sure about this idea.

He told Herschel and Daryl about his plans but, they seemed a bit uneasy about the idea.

The biggest mistake that Rick made was telling Merle.

I guess he forgot that Merle tried to kill Michonne a few days prior.

Anyway, Merle decided to take matters into his own hands.

He gathered up supplies in what looked like a boiler room (including Rick’s telephone from episode 6).

Daryl almost caught him but, was sidetracked by his concern for his brother’s well-being.

Merle lured her into a cell block to clear out walkers and clocked her over the head.

He put a bag over her head and tied her up.

Meanwhile, Rick searched for some thing to tie Michonne up with.

Ghost Lori appeared but, this time she was helpful rather than a hinderance.

Rick decided that it was not a good idea to surrender Michonne but, he was too late.

She was already walking with Merle up the road.

If you have read my previous reviews of this season, then you know that I have a theory about  these two characters.

I am not trying to ship them but, I will say this…

The only person who Merle had a connection with was Michonne.

Both characters were outsiders to the group.

Rick wanted to kick both characters out of the prison.

The Governor wanted both of them dead.

I believe that these characters together were unstoppable together.

There was no hope for anything positive between these two because of the Governor’s vendetta against Michonne.

I believe that he let her go because of this reason coupled with the fact that he knew the truth.

There is no middle ground with The Governor.

If he wants someone dead then it is done.

With or without Michonne, the war will not end.

Michonne tried her best to convince him to go back to the prison even after he kidnapped her.

She appealed to him the best way that she could.

When he stopped the car, I knew that he had a change of heart.

I held out hope that maybe Merle would turn around and go back.

Suddenly, he decided to let her go.

They exchanged one last look which tugged at my heart-strings.

It was another scene in which Michonne showed emotion.

That moment seemed to affect Merle because he looked away trying not to shed a tear.

This is third time it seemed like Merle was about to cry.

It is true that actor Michael Rooker’s portrayal was brilliant.

Merle Dixon’s character began as a stereotype but, ended up being more than meets the eye.

His last moment went out with a bang.

He used the car alarm which nearly made him and Michonne into a zombie feast to lure out a couple dozen zombies.

I loved the scene where Merle sat in the car drinking Jack Daniels while the zombies tried their best to breach the car windows.

He led the zombies to the area where was Rick, Daryl, Martinez ,Andrea , The Governor and Milton met up.

It seemed too good to be true when the Woodbury brigade showed up and the battle began.

Merle died in a blaze of glory but, not before being beaten up by Woodbury thugs and having his fingers bitten off by The Governor.

I was glad that Merle did not beg for his life.

In my opinion, he was too much a rebel for that.

The saddest part of the episode was the scene when Daryl went out to find Merle.

He came upon Michonne who was all alone.

She explained that Merle let her go free. That was when Daryl knew that Merle was on a suicide mission.

The moment that he found his brother zombified and dining on the insides of Ben ( Allen’s son from Tyreese’s group).

Walker Merle approached Daryl who was inconsolable.

The moment that he had to put down Merle was so sad.

I felt so bad for him.

When Daryl Dixon cried it broke my heart.

It was a lot easier to assume that Merle was dead in season one and two after being left on the roof of the mall in Atlanta.

However, the Dixon brothers were reunited in a sticky situation at Woodbury.

Daryl chose to separated from the group because they refused to allow Merle to return to the prison at first.

Now Merle is dead after trying to complete a mission that Rick basically sent him on.

Poor Daryl.

Well, the sweet Daryl that everyone (including me) has grown to love is now gone.

Unfortunately, the Daryl Dixon from season one, the person who everyone feared is back.

Only this time, he will be darker and vengeful.

Rick Grimes, take note.

The Ricktatorship is now over.

This newfound Rick-ocracy is something that is too little, too late.

Daryl will now reflect upon what his brother said about being his own man and take it to heart.

The season finale is going to be interesting.

 Until, next episode……

Sunday is Walking Dead Day and Game Of Thrones Sunday.

The Walking Dead Season 3 episode 14 ” Prey”

andrea

Note to those who missed last nights broadcast, there will be spoilers.

Google Lori Holden ( Andrea)’s interviewers on various talk shows.

Apparently, she is trying to redeem her character’s image in the media and on social networks.

Last night on The Talking Dead, she made it known that  Andrea was not a bad woman. She just makes bad decisions.

Episode 14 of Season Three opened with a flashback.

Andrea and Michonne sitting by the fire eating food out of cans.

It was nice being able to see another piece of the real Michonne.

Apparently, her pets are two men who did something horrible to her.

She described them as animals.

It is obvious that they assaulted her in some way in the past.

This was one moment when I was able to truly understand Michonne.

I am sure there are more to come in future episodes and seasons.

That was the past.

The governor is laying everything out on the table literally. He places all sort of sharp tools on a table.

I immediately recognize a speculum which leads me to believe that Phil dabbles in a little gynecological exploration from time to time.

There is a rather retro looking dentists chair with yellow leather.

He even set up some chains in a door way with hoops to hold Michonne’s wrists.

Boy, is he sick!!!

( For those who read the comic book I am sure you felt uneasy when he was on his knees.)

Milton is as uncomfortable as the viewer is and tries to inquire about what Phil is doing.

The Governor seems fixated on making Michonne pay for killing Penny ( who was technically dead already) and taking his eye.

Milton leaves to find Andrea.

He takes her to an open vent and shows her what he is planning.

Andrea is so upset that she points her gun down at the Governor with the intent to shoot him.

However, Milton stops her explaining that even if he is dead ,Martinez will kill her and take his place.

In other words, his death will not stop the war that is about to begin.

I am unsure about Milton and his loyalties. Yes, he showed her the torture room but, after he bailed on her in the woods last episode.

I agree with Todd McFarland, there is something fishy about Milton ( or Waylon Smithers as some viewers are calling him).

I do not blame Andrea for ” high tailing it out” of Woodbury.

Nor did I blame Tyreese and Sasha for stepping out of her way.

Never come between a woman on a mission.

I believe that they are starting to see Woodbury for what it is especially Tyreese.

She wanted to warn the prison group of what they are up against.

One character who I will not miss if he becomes zombie food is Allen.

I was upset that he told the secrets of the prison to the Governor in episode 10.

No one asked you, Allen.

It was not the time to bring up mistakes of the past particularly the fact that Donna, his wife slept with Tyreese.

They are in a new place with people they do not know. Now is not the time to fracture your group regardless of the hospitality of Woodbury.

During a visit to a zombie trap complete with a bus full of hungry zombies and a zombie pit,

Tyreese nearly fed Allen to the zombies as a snack.

He literally dangled him above the zombies who nearly snatched him.

Sasha was able to talk him out of it.

Meanwhile, Martinez is on the side line watching with a smile.

Andrea watched one white truck drive past the field where she is running.

It seems like everything is okay.

That split second that she takes to catch her breath is enough time for the Governor to catch up to her.

How he was able to see her across that field with one eye is beyond me.

Anyway, he chases her into the nearby woods.

Rather than chase her on foot, he decides to take a short cut.

Andrea hides near a tree with a split trunk.

All is well until a zombie decides to reach through and hold her in a death grip.

Kudos to her , use of the knife Rick gave her.

She kills not one but, three zombies saving the death grip one for last.

Andrea continues running until she comes upon a warehouse.

The Governor arrives a minute or so later.

Andrea is home free hiding until in Walking Dead fashion out pops a zombie.

She kills him only to end up alerting the Governor of where she is.

To make a long story short, she runs toward a stairwell full of zombies.

This situation comes in handy when Philip nearly catches her. She unleashes said zombies onto him and escapes.

He screams and I think finally the Governor is done.

At this point, I am very happy.

Andrea got away.

Now she can warn the others of what is to come.

Remember that zombie trap and the zombie bus, well someone decided to drive up and set it all on fire.

Some say it was Milton but, I beg to differ.

The cameras never showed the person’s face and all that the viewers saw were black heavy-duty gloves.

Later, Andrea is still running. She makes it nearly a hundred or so feet away from the front gate.

Unfortunately, someone decided that Rick should be on watch tower duty.

Andrea waves her hands a few times and then tries to catch her breath.

All of suddenly, the Governor comes behind her and pulls her to the ground.

Now Rick who believes that he is seeing things again sees a bit of the commotion and points a gun in that direction.

He gets himself together and continues staring down at the zombies at the gate.

The Governor returns to Woodbury in his truck. He is greeted by some who inquire about Andrea’s whereabouts.

He explains that he was unable to find her.

The Governor assumes that Tyreese set the fire to the zombie pit.

Where did you get the gasoline?,” he asks.

” Come again,” replies Tyreese.

The Governor comes upon Milton they exchange a few words .

Milton offers his condolences and inquires as to whether or not there is a suspect.

The camera pulls away towards a red door. It opens and the viewer is led up a hallway to a door that is cracked.

The door flies open to reveal Andrea tied up with tape over her mouth. She is seated on the torture chair in the torture room.

Andrea, Andrea, Andrea….everyone tried their best to warn her.

However, the Governor had her at hello.

Michonne noticed something sinister in episode 5.

She tried to convince Andrea to leave with her but, she refused.

Unfortunately, it is too late.

Now we have to “prey” for her because her fate is not looking good.

One more episode until the season finale…

until Sunday readers.

16 days until Game of Thrones is back.

Game of Thrones Season 3 starts in 16 days

” The night is dark and full of terrors.”

I am so excited for the return of Game Of Thrones in 16 days.

Season one caught my interest early and left me speechless as Eddard “Ned” Stark lost his head.

Season two ended with the emergence of The White Walkers.

What will season 3 bring?

This is one of my favorite shows.

Shows where as the characters are all fair game keep me on the edge of my seat.

My two favorite characters Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen are on the cover of this weeks issue Entertainment Weekly.

According to a fan site called Winter Is Coming  ,

starting on March 29th,2013 an International Game of Thrones exhibit is coming to New York City.

It will end on April 3rd,2013

New York City is the first stop of the tour and the only US tour.

For more information and tour dates visit http://game-of-thrones-exhibition.com/

Yours truly will definitely attend this exhibition.

What will make 2013 even better is if the cast comes to New York Comic Con in October.

One can only dream of such an appearance.

People are in your life for seasons.

” People are in your life for seasons”

Kanye West : Heard them say.

That is a song lyric that I reflect upon from time to time.

It puts me in a state of mind that releases all regret.

I spent far too long regretting what was out of my control.

Seven years ago, I felt like I was on top of the world.

My part time job was fantastic.

I started my first relationship with someone who I clicked with.

I was apart of a circle of friends that shared a common interest with.

The sky was the limit for me.

One day, everything fell apart.

My eyes opened so wide that I began to see everything for what it really was.

My relationship had no meaning to my significant other.

At the time, I was not ready to  take things to another level with someone whom I barely knew.

I learned from MySpace that there were other women in the picture as well.

I broke up with him on Valentine’s Day .

I was laid off from my job after working for a year and four months.

My circle of friends was not what it appeared.

Being unemployed made me feel a little down and they only seemed to drag me even further into the darkness.

My closest friend relished the fact that things were falling apart for me. She started to hang with my other friends and ditch me.

There was another who succeeded in her plot to tear us apart.

It was hard to climb out of the darkness but, I did.

I spent almost three years all alone and broke.

God helped me through it all.

He never gave up on me and I believe he never will.

After all that I endured in the past seven years, God led me down a path of self discovery.

When I felt like I was a failure, he convinced me to continue.

My mother stayed by me trying her hardest to help me cope.

Even when others tried their best to make me feel inferior, she came to my defense.

At this moment, I am not taking this time for granted.

I believe that there is always a silver lining to every cloud.

Mine is showing itself little by little.

For those who read this and are dealing with a situation, know that it will get better.

The opinions of others do not matter so long as you believe in you.

There is no timeline in life.

No one knows what the set path is.

All that a person can do is keep on going

If you feel like you want to end it consider what you will miss.

Believe in yourself regardless of what others think.

Never let go of your dreams.

Don’t allow anyone to make you feel inferior.

Believe it.

Things will work out in the end.

Kanye West was correct in his lyric that ” people are in your life for seasons, and anything that happens is for a reason”.

The Walking Dead Season 3,Episode 13:Arrow in the door post

thCAQK9J1H

The Walking Dead season 3,episode 13 ” Arrow In the Doorpost” consisted of a meeting between Rick Grimes and Governor Philip. Many viewers were disappointed in the storyline. I have a theory on this so bear with me. I believe that this show is climbing up a mountain towards a climax that will blow the rest of season out of the water. According to Dallas Roberts ( Milton Mamet) the finale will leave the viewers with the mouths open in shock. The Governor went to that meeting in the barn( or warehouse) to call a false truce. He wanted to come across as the peaceful, diplomatic Governor that Andrea knows and loves. I was not naive especially when I saw the gun that was taped to the table.

Rick could have killed The Governor and none would the wiser. However, he chose to sit down and listen to him. The meeting turned out the exact way that I assumed it would. The battle is still on. I enjoyed the scenes where Herchel and Daryl bonded with Milton and Martinez. I realized that if the leaders were not at each others throats everyone would live together somewhat peacefully. Andrea was left out in the cold after being dismissed from the initial meeting. The fact that she was unaware that The Governor arrived first to the scene spoke volumes.

Merle wants to rally the team at the prison to go out and make the first move.

In other words, let’s go kill the Governor.

No one wants to do this behind Rick’s back.

I am not 100% convinced that the group can trust Merle. The escape from the prison was just too easy.

The Governor is the type of person who is a step ahead of everyone around him. There is not one situation that he is not aware of.

But, that is just my opinion.

Now, I want to discuss the elephant in the room…

I am unsure as to what is Merle trying to accomplish by buttering up Michonne.

Where does he stand with her?

I know that she is not buying his crap. Every time, he tries to be nice, Michonne shuts him down.

In this particular episode, I did not buy his sarcasm. I hope that the viewers learn what is his current modus operandi regarding her.

There are countless shippers of Merle and Michonne online.

I can see where they are coming from but, Michonne will not go with it.

Yes, in the comic books she was sexually liberated but, with Merle that is a bit farfetched.

But, this is The Walking Dead….anything can happened.

Two things confused me about this episode….

Why did The Governor and Rick Grimes lie to their comrades when they returned home?

and

Why did I want a zombie to get in between the sexy scene with Glenn and Maggie?

No, I am not a hater. lol

I just recall the last time they had a moment….Merle interrupted that one so….

Oh yeah and one more thing…..

that last scene made it clear that Andrea is on a mission.

I hope that mission ends with The Governor no longer in existence.

Judging by the scenes from next week,  it’s on…..

Until next episode, everyone.
